Carp Side of the Moon
SOLD OUT (Aug 2014)

This book has been a long time coming, I’m sure you’ll agree. Pete Springate is not known as ‘Sir’ for nothing; it is a sign of the affection and respect that his peers have for him, and in this, the first of two volumes of his life in carp angling, you will see how he earned that respect.

In a time that ‘pioneering’ really was what was needed to seek out and catch the elusive carp, Pete was at the forefront of many ideas and innovations. This book traces his fishing from his first roach to some of the most iconic captures in carp fishing history. But Pete isn’t just a carp angler, and in his book you’ll learn about his love for fishing rivers and streams for roach, chub and barbel – in the height of summer and the depths of winter.

But mainly it’s about his quest for carp. You may think that you’ve read quite a bit about Pete in various magazine articles, but this is the real deal, straight from the great man’s diaries, and contains stories and photos never before published. It is proof, if proof were needed, why Pete has rightly earned the prefix ‘Sir’.

With over 400 pages to read and 420 plus full colour pictures (well most of them anyway) dating from the early 50’s and his childhood, up until the end of the 80’s this is a must read book for any carp angler.

Carp Side of the Moon is selling extremely quickly and sales over the Christmas period far exceeded our expectations. So, if you don't want to be disappointed in getting a copy at face value then please order your copy quickly.

Pete's new book is out now and ready to order.

What a book, what a life, what an angler, Sir Pete Springate (bow my head) has turned his angling diary into a book for us all to read and what a fantastic journey he has been on

Pete needs no introduction in the carp fishing world. He is the king, hence his title 'Sir Pete'. Pete is a very good old friend of mine, and like many others, I have waited a long time for this fishing legend to write a book. This book certainly was worth the wait and it follows Pete's journey through a lifetime of fishing, not only for carp but other species as well. This is another book you will not want to put down, and to sum up the book - 'bloody brilliant! This book definitely heads my top ten fishing book list; in fact when Pete wrote the book it would not fit into one book. The second part of the book is due out this year, and I can't wait for part two to be released. The space is already reserved on my bookshelf, as I am sure it will be as good as the first. This book is also on my highly recommended list - in fact it's on my 'do not miss this book' list. The book will certainly be a collector's item so it's not only a good read, but also an investment.
