With the Savay Chronicles safely put to bed, it's time to move on to the next projects.
Our next literary offering is from Dave Jones - Romancing the Carp - and is a wonderful account of his angling exploits, with his brother Rick, in Hampshire, Sussex and Surrey from the early '70's to the present day. It concentrates heavily on the love of Dave's life - Little Frensham Pond and it's wonderful Leney's. It's beautifully written and has some wonderful shots of those classic old Leney's. We'll only be printing 750 of these books, as well as a limited run of numbered leather bounds. We're hoping to launch the book at The Land's End at the end of September, which we'll confirm nearer the time.
I'm reading through Harry Haskell's wonderfully named Reeling in the Years at the moment, which goes back a few decades further than Dave's book and is full of some real history, way before bite alarms, rod pods and boilies. Having said that, Harry didn't spurn technology and moved with the times, in fact inventing a few products that we now take for granted. Again there'll only be 1000 of these books, plus a limited run of leathers, and we're looking to launch this at Sandown in December, although there may well be a pre-launch at The Land's End in late November.
That's it for now, there are a few more things in the pipeline which we'll tell you about in a few months.
