Clive Williams is 56 years old and has spent the last fifty years living in Horsham, West Sussex. He has been carp fishing for over thirty years and after cutting his teeth on local, Sussex waters, he moved up to the Colne Valley and fished the famous Longfield Lake in the early ‘80’s, alongside the likes of Ritchie McDonald, Pete Springate and Rob Maylin. Then, in the late ‘80’s he began his long term love affair with Savay Lake, where he is still a member today. He wrote a fishing column in the West Sussex County Times in the late ‘80’s, and was the founder member of the Sussex branch of the CAA in the early ‘80’s, and some of his meetings at Horsham Football Club have become legendary! He has been married to Jo for 25 years and although they have no children they do have their dog, Zola (yes, Clive isa Chelsea supporter). These days he is a freelance tackle agent, but he does also have an inventive side and, indeed, it was he who invented the Korda Krusha, amongst other things.Through all of that, though, his love of Sussex and its carp waters has never waned, hence this labour of love. We hope you find as much enjoyment in this beautiful county of Sussex as Clive has – we’re sure you will.
